Pak-Japan to increase cooperation in areas of mutual interest

Rawalpindi—Pakistan and Japan have underscored the need for further increasing cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
This was discussed at a meeting between Caretaker Federal Minister for Defence & Defence Production, Syed Salim Abbas Jilani, and the Japanese ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Seiji KOJIMA, who called on the Minister, here on Friday. Both sides exchanged views on matters relating to the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The Minister told the envoy that Pakistan and Japan enjoyed excellent relations in various fields, which needed to be further, strengthened for the mutual benefits of the two countries.
The meeting stressed the need for increasing cooperation in the areas of military training and regular exchange of visits by the Military leadership of the two countries.
The Minister informed the envoy that the people of Pakistan had great respect for the Japanese people and their leadership who have always been supportive to Pakistan in difficult times particularly in the wake of October 8, 2005 devastating earth quake.
