No confidence motion against Rashid: Political lobbying starts

RAWALPINDI—The Political lobbying to table no confidence motion against Nazim Rawal Town Sheikh Rashid Sahfeeq have been started in Rawalpindi.
Nazim Rawal Town is nephew of Former Federal Railway Minister and Senior Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) Leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmed who lost his NA-55 and NA-56 seats to the PML-N in the Feb 18 elections.
The Union Councils Naib Nazim belong to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and other Parties including PML-Q in Rawal Town have started contact with Naib Nazim of PML-N to table motion against Town Nazim. There are 65 members in Rawal Town including 46 Naib Nazim, 15 leaders members, 2 minorities and 2 labours. Hanif Abassi, PML-N leader soon after his victory from NA-56 had told media men that he would table a no confidence motion against the Rawal Town Nazim with in a week for running a campaign of Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
Almost all the Nazims had opposed the candidates of PPP and PML-N and actively participated in the elections of the PML-Q candidates but PML-Q could get only two Provincial Assembly seats from the District.
The session of Rawal Town Council would be held on February 25 in which no trust move would be tabled. It is also expected that no confidence motion would also be tabled against other Nazim of the district. According to the sources, the Opposition have such majority to pass non confidence motion against Town Nazim from the house.—Agencies
