President ready to work with new parliament

ISLAMABAD—President Pervez Musharraf said, while meeting with an American senator and a member of the US Congress, that he is ready to work with any political party for the stability of democracy in the country. US senator Bailey Hutchison and Congress member Michael C. Burgess, who are on visit of Pakistan, held a meeting along with US ambassador Anne W. Patterson with President Pervez Musharraf at the President’s Camp in Rawalpindi....

Coalition partners thrash out PM choice

ISLAMABAD—Two biggest opposition parties sought to thrash out their choice for premier Friday after agreeing to form a coalition government that could drive President Pervez Musharraf from power.  Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and the widowed husband of slain opposition leader Benazir Bhutto said their parties, once bitter rivals, would join forces after trouncing Musharraf’s allies in elections....
