COAS visits Waziristan

RAWALPINDI—Chief of Army Staff, Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that devotion to duty, dedication and perseverance should be the hallmark of a soldier’s life.
He made these remarks while addressing troops in the field during his visit to South Waziristan Thursday. He appreciated the efforts of security forces which helped restore normalcy in the area. He later pinned gallantry awards on officers and men who displayed great acts of valour and bravery during recent operations.
Earlier on arrival at South Waziristan, General Officer Commanding briefed the COAS about the security situation in his area of responsibility. Corps Commander Peshawar, Lt Gen Muhammad Masood Aslam accompanied the Chief of Army Staff during the visit
