17 members of a family killed in road mishap

JHANG—Seventeen members of a family including 13 women and two children were killed while 12 others injured in a collision between a bus and a wagon near here on Thursday evening. According to the details, the ill-fated family was returning to Mehram Sayal after attending a funeral ceremony of a relative in a wagon. When they reached near Chowki Aliabad, their wagon number LHO-5184 collided with a speeding bus (LZZ-7655) on Bhakkar road, some six kilometres off here. As a result 13 women, two men and 2 children died while 12 others sustained injuries. The 15 deceased were identified as Amna Bibi, Ayesha Bibi, Hanifa Bibi, Maryam Bibi, Halima Bibi, Fatima Bibi, Rukhsana Bibi, Saina Bibi, Sharifan Bibi, Salatan Bibi, Zulekhan Bibi, Salma Bibi, Khatoon Bibi, Ashfaq and Muhammad Ismail. However, the identity of the remaining two minors is yet to be established.—Agencies
