Nawaz, Shahbaz to lead party in NA, PA

ISLAMABAD—PML-N parliamentary committee has elected Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif as parliamentary leaders in national assembly and Punjab assembly respectively.
PML-N parliamentary party met here Thursday in a local hotel. PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif, party president Mian Shahbaz Sharif, chairman Raja Zafar ul Haq, secretary general Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, information secretary Ahsan Iqbal, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi and others attended the meeting. Mian Nawaz Sharif presided over the meeting.
A host of issues including overall situation of the country, formation of the government, restoration of judges, independence of judiciary, ongoing war against terrorism and other mattes came under the discussion during the meeting. The meeting also discussed the No of seats bagged by the party during the elections and polls rigging related matters. Party elected members presented their stance on important issues including reinstatement of judges.
The meeting was told a large No of former candidates of PML-Q and independents had made contacts to join PML-N. It was also told in the meeting rigging was started in various constituencies but the media and observers stopped massive rigging on the last moment. Therefore, PML-N has achieved success.
