PPP weighing to form unity Govt: Zardari
Says parliament to be strengthened

ISLAMABAD—The co-chairman of PPPP, Asif Ali Zardari has said that any future cooperation with President Musharraf would be decided by consensus of the Parliament. Addressing a press conference after the meeting of People’s Federal Council, and central executive committee, convened by himself he reminded masses about possibility of forming a National government, besides promising a consensus with all political parties.
He said that regarding this vow, he had contacted all major politicians and had requested them to act in unison. He expressed his strong resentment against anti-media laws of PEMRA, and said that after his toady’s meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif, he had also announced his demand for release of deposed and arrested judges.
He announced that the release of barrister Aitizaz Ahsan, for which he claimed full credits, while talks were going on important issues including the selection of leader of the house. He said that being politically oriented, PPPP would prefer to cooperate with all political parties, and also promised media to help with the pending Wage Board Award.
He also underscored the importance of judiciary. “We want to assure complete independence of the judiciary”, he said adding that he has also met with US Senators who assured their complete cooperation in this connection, and have pledged their support for masses of Pakistan.
Asif Ali Zardari further said that PPP has found several clues of rigging on polling day, and has warned election commission of Pakistan to practice its responsibility prudently, otherwise be prepared to be Jailed like political leaders and judges.
Zardari reiterated his stance that investigation of Liaqat Bagh tragedy and assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto must be carried out by United Nations. “We have received a latter from the United Nations would conduct investigation of assassination of Ms. Bhutto on the government demand only”, he added.
He further said that he would pleased if Nawaz Sharif contacts him after enjoying support of the independent candidates. Moreover, PPP would have no objection if Nawaz party wants to make government with the support of other parties. Asif Ali Zardari further said that he is not entitled for the Prime Minister’s Office; however, their party has enough mandate leadership for the office of Prime Minister.
He further said to work with President is a sensitive issue. PPP is not a sole party to decide whether to work with President or not, and the decision would be left to the newly elected parliament.
Similarly, he said that when PPP came into power, it would make new polices. There is no conflict of decision in the party over the selection of Prime Minister, he said by adding that when Aitzaz Ahsan would be released, PPP would also hear his logic, since Aitizaz Ahsan had reservations about the fact that, he was all alone over the stance over judiciary.
