NH&MP recovers three vehicles, arrests three car-lifters

ISLAMABAD—National Highways and Motorway Police have recovered three
stolen vehicles and also arrested three car-lifters by prompt action,
said a press release here on Wednesday. The Motorway Police were
informed by Lahore Police that a Pick-up No. LEJ-7323 has been stolen
and Motorway Police may help in the recovery of it.
On receiving the information, all the patrolling vehicles of NH&MP were
put on alert. After some time, the NH&MP officers stopped two pick ups
bearing No. BRB-670 and LVC-3276 in Muridke on GT Road. Meanwhile
another information was received from a Tracking Company that these two
pick ups have been stolen. Therefore, the NH&MP officers stopped both
the vehicles and arrested three culprits traveling in these vehicles
named Muhammad Shahid, Muhammad Asif and Syed Shahid Abbas r/o Lahore
and the vehicles were also taken into custody.
In another incident, Motorway Police were informed by the Islamabad
Police that a Toyota car No. LXP-572 has been stolen and Motorway Police
may help in recovery of it. On this information, all the patrolling
vehicles of NH&MP were put on alert.
After sometime, the NH&MP officers found a Toyota car without number
plates standing on M-1 near Rashakai. On checking the car, it revealed
that it was the required car. Motorway Police took the car into custody
and informed the local police, which are in search of the absconders.
Later on, the recovered vehicles alongwith the arrested car-lifters were
handed over to local police for further legal action and investigation. |
