PPP to adopt unanimous strategy on Govt formation: Shah

ISLAMABAD—President Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Punjab Shah Mehmood Qureshi Wednesday said that it was mandate of party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) to adopt a unanimous strategy with regard to formation of governments at the centre and in the provinces. After evolving consensus in the party, CEC would adopt future course of action about formation of government, he told a private television (Aaj).
To a question about stance of PPP and PML-N on judiciary issue, he said both parties have almost a similar stance, adding “objective is the same but, there strategy can be different.”
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said PPP wants independent judiciary in the country.
Commenting on elections’ result, he said although PPP has emerged as a leading political party in the country but, it secured seats less than the expectations. He also expressed some concern n fairness of the elections in a few selected constituencies.
To another question about investigation of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s assassination case, Shah Mehmood said after coming into power PPP would request the United Nations to probe the case.
