FPSC announces vacancies to be filled by CSS examination

ISLAMABAD—Federal Public Service Commission announced distribution of
299 vacancies, including 47 carried over vacancies of 2006 Examination
(i.e. Sindh (Rural)-17, Sindh (Urban)22, Balchistan-02 and AJK-06), to
be filled on the basis of the final results of the Competitive
Examination 2007, according to the Government policy on
Provincial/Regional quotas and 10% reserved Women quota. Out of total
299 vacancies, 19 vacancies will be filled on all-Pakistan merit, 269
vacancies on Province/Region based merit while remaining 30 seats will
be assigned to female candidates against 10% reserved quota for women.
According to the distribution 19 seats will be filled on merit basis
(7.5%), out of 50% quota of Punjab 113 seats will be filled on merit,
Sindh (Rural) will have 40 seats on merit (11.4%). Sindh (Urban) 38
seats (7.6%), NWFP 25 seats (11.5%). Balochistan 14 seats (6%), NA &
FATA 09 seats (4%) and AJK 11 seats (2%). Women candidates allocated to
Punjab 13 seats, Sindh (Rural) 06 seats. Sindh (Urban) 03 seats, NWFP 03
seats, Balochistan 01 seat, NA & FATA 01 seat and AJK 01 seat. The
service/group-wise distribution of the vacancies of Competitive
Examination 2007 including carried over vacancies of Competitive
Examination 2006 is as under:- Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service (PAAS)
– 44 Commerce and Trade Group (CTG) 20, Customs and Excise Group (CEG)
20, District Management Group (DMG) 37, Foreign Service of Pakistan (FSP)
20, Income Tax Group (ITG) 58, Information Group (IG) 38, Police Service
of Pakistan (PSP)40, Postal Group (Post-G) 13, Railways (Commercial and
Transportation) Group (RCTG) 09.
Allocation of candidates to the Service/Occupational Group will be made
keeping in view the suitability of the candidates as determined by the
Commission, their merit position, preference of the candidates and the
quota of Provinces/Regions concerned as set out in the Rules for the
Competitive Examination, 2007. The Government, however, reserves the
right to fill a smaller or a larger number of vacancies than these
indicated. |
