Maqbool terms holding of transparent elections a major achievement

ISLAMABAD—Provincial Minister for Population Welfare and Human Rights Punjab, Maqbool Elahi Malik said holding of free, fair and transparent elections was a major achievement of the caretaker government as completion of election process in peaceful atmosphere was a mission of the government.
Maqbool Elahi said this on Tuesday while talking to newsmen in the premises of the Supreme Court about the role of caretaker government in holding elections.
“We are thankful to the entire nation for taking part in the election process with full enthusiasm,” the provincial minister said.
Satisfaction of all the political parties over the results of the elections is a proof of the impartiality of the caretaker government, Maqbool Elahi Malik said.
He said that the provincial government made all possible cooperation with the Election Commission of Pakistan in this regard.
The provincial minister also congratulated the law enforcing agencies for providing adequate security to voters at polling stations which contributed to making the turnout very reasonable.
