Increase in entry fee of Govt Hospitals condemned

RAWALPINDI—The public and social circles have protested over 500 percent increase in the entry fee by the Rawalpindi Allied Hospitals and Medical College Administration aiming to meet their expenditures.
According to sources, the OPD entry fee has been increased upto Rs. 50 in Rawalpindi General Hospital, Headquarter Hospital and Holy Family Hospital and the orders have been issued from the Board of the Management of Medical College and Allied Hospital.
Sources further said that the administration is also mulling to increase in the fee of X-Ray, ECG and CT Scan. The decision has been taken aimed to solve the problems facing by the Hospital Administration after returned the surplus amount of the annual budget to the Government.
It has been observed that after immense increase in the entry fee, immense reduction has been witnessed in the number of patients. The citizens have demanded the high officials to take notice of the matter and take back the decision immediately and mitigate their sufferings.
