Capital enjoys peaceful electoral process
ISLAMABAD—Polling for the scheduled general elections was conducted
Monday in the Capitol city of Islamabad, in a peaceful and harmonious
environment.
Amid well-laid security arrangements made by Islamabad police, Rangers
and Pakistan Army the citizens exercised their adult voting franchise.
Nothing untoward was reported, and Islamabad remained tranquil and
festive during the whole day, with all high officials including Chief
Commissioner, Islamabad, Hamid Ali Jadoon, I.G Shahid Nadeem Baloch, DC,
and SSP visited all the sensitive polling stations located in areas of
Bhara Kahu, Saidpur, besides “regular” zones of various sectors of
Islamabad and reviewed security arrangements.
The Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Aamir Ali Ahmad and SSP Syed Kaleem
Imam thanked all security outfits for ensuring complete security during
the elections, while equally being grateful to citizens for their
