D I Khan sealed for peaceful polls

DERA ISMAIL KHAN—Dera Ismail Khan Police have sealed all the entry points of the city has a precautionary measure for the peaceful conduct of general election on February 18. “This a very effective strategy which worked out for us and we were able to arrest 6 alleged would-be suicide bomber” said Additional Inspector General of Police D.I.Khan, Haji Habib-ur-Rahman at the press briefing here Friday. Haji Habib said so for D I Khan police had arrested six alleged would-be suicide bombers including two accused of killing Benazir” it was we who nabbed Aitzaz Shah and Sherzaman, who have confessed to be involved in Benazir’s assassination, and have been handed over to Punjab police for further investigation” Additional I G P said. A comprehensive phased-wise security plan has been devised which is pre-polls, during polls, and post-polls, he said, adding to avert any untoward incident on February 18, D I Khan police have also chalked out elaborate security measures, sending appropriate deployment to around 429 polling stations. Besides ten points have also been established at different locations in the city that would be manned by police personnel.—Agencies
