171-up Rail car restored

LAHORE—Passengers of Lahore-Narowal-Sialkot sections have hailed the caretaker Railways Minister Tariq Mansoor and Railways authorities for restoration of 171-up, 172 down Rawalpindi Sialkot Railcar to Lahore through Narowal, on Friday. Restoration of train reflects strong commitment of the government to facilitate passengers, said the speakers addressing the welcome celebrations on arrival of the train at Narowal, Bado-Malhi, Narang Mandi and other railway stations. Daily passenger Association (DPA) Lhr-Narowal section made special arrangements at the railways stations to welcome the train upon its restoration after one and a half month. Among others Hafiz Abdul Qayyume chairman DPA, Malik Sajid Attique, Ashfaq Ahmed Faraz and senior office-bearers of DPA spoke on the occasion. They said Lahore-Narowal Section is the most profit generating branch-route of Railways. Railways can double its income on this route by increasing boggies of the trains, ensuring punctuality and controlling corrupt booking clerks, police-men and ticket chequers, they said.—Online
