9 tribesmen
arrested to recover envoy
KHYBER AGENCY—Political administration in Khyber Agency launching a
crackdown against Jhanda Khail tribe for recovery of abducted envoy
Tariq Azizuddin have arrested 9 tribesmen and impounded 4 vehicles. The
political administration launched crackdown against the tribe under FCR.
The administration has cordoned off Tarang Sang Check post in Jamarod,
Bagairi Check post and Aftaba Check post. The Khasdar Forces has also
been summoned According to the administration during the second phase of
the operation all government facilities to the tribe would be withdrawn
and their assets seized. This crackdown would continue till the recovery
of the abducted envoy, the administration officials told.Confirming the
incident, Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan Army in a
statement said a convoy of Bajaur scouts was hit a by a remote control
device at 9:00 am in area of Tarkho bridge, Tehsil Mand of Bajaur
agency. Three military Personnel including a Major were killed while
another was wounded. Bajaur scout’s Maj. Farhan, Constable Hayat and
Noor were among the deceased. The injured were rushed to Tehsil
headquarters hospital for immediate medical treatment.
Tariq Azizuddin along with his security guards was abducted on Monday
while he was on his way to Kabul. The government has still no clue to
his whereabouts and is making every possible effort for his recovery.
Joint opposition has submitted adjournment motion in the senate against
kidnapping of Pakistani envoy Tariq Aziz uddin for Afghanistan and
suicide attack on an election rally in Mir Ali town of north Waziristan.
Combined opposition filing adjournment motion against the kidnapping of
the envoy said that Kidnapping of Pakistani envoy with his security
guard and driver shows lawlessness and failure of government and if
important personalities like Tariq Aziz are not save in his country then
how government can provide safety to an ordinary man.
In another adjournment motion against suicide attack in Mir Ali the
joint opposition said suicide attack on an election rally by an
independent candidate in support of Awami National Party (ANP) on
February 11 in Mir Ali north Waziristan, killed dozens of innocent lives
also proves that government has failed to provide safety to people.
These incidents are of national importance therefore senate should
adjourn usual business of senate and conduct discussion on the floor of
house immediately. Joint opposition demanded. Opposition leader in
senate Raza Rabbani, senator Latif Khosa, Safdar abbasi, Ishaq dar,
Abdur Rahim Mandokheel, Professor Khurshid, Babar Awan, Ilyas Ahmed Blor,
Sadia Abbasi, Anwar Baig, Farooq Naik and Rukhsana Zubairi submitted
