Unfair polls to fuel crisis, says Nawaz

MURREE—PML-N’s Chief and former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that country will have to face irreparable loss in case of rigging in upcoming general polls. He expressed these views while interviewing with American news agency and addressing a public meeting in Murree.
Mian Nawaz Sharif said that it will not be possible for the rulers to control the situation, which would be created as a result of rigged polls adding that Pakistan was dismembered as a result of disputed general elections of 1970 and PML-N wants to see Pakistan unite and prosperous. He alleged that preparations are being made by the government for rigging the polls and after the support of America for President Musharraf anti-America sentiments have enhanced.
Inflation is at peak in the country, roti is being sold at RS 5, similarly the prices of diesel, gas and others items have skyrocketed, he added. He urged the people to cast their vote on Feb 18 at every cost to change the fate of the country because it is the need of hour adding that the wrong policies of incompetent rulers have created problems for the solidarity of the country and changed the entire judicial system.
He maintained that Murree is his home, surveys were conducted and it was our programme to launch further development projects including provision of gas, motorway and cemented roads. He said that PML-N would solve the problems of Murree and Kotli Sattian on priority basis after coming into power.
PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif has said his party will not share power with president Musharraf if it comes to power. A private TV channel quoted him, as saying while addressing a public meeting here Thursday PML-N would not lend support to dictatorship adding he still considered Musharraf an unconstitutional president.
PML-N president Musharraf could be cited one who caused harm to the country after general Yahya. Sense of deprivation gripped the poor masses during his 7 years rule, he added. People are starving to death, industry has been shut down due to load shedding and the poor masses are being denied medicines in hospitals on one hand and the rulers are deceiving people of raising slogans national kitty was full to capacity on the other hand.
Pakistan former Premier and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif vowed Thursday morning that his party will restore the deposed judges and ensure an independent judiciary if voted to power. Addressing public gathering in Murree, he urged the people to necessarily cast their vote to change the nation’s destiny.—Online
