PML promoted culture of tolerance in society: Durrani
ISLAMABAD—Central Vice President Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q), Senator
Muhammad Ali Durrani Tuesday said his party promoted culture of
tolerance in the society during last five years.
Talking to a private television the Senator said PML had launched
unprecedented development work for the welfare of common man across the
country during its five years term.
Durrani said it was PML government which gave complete freedom to print
and electronic media to comment on government policies.
To a question, he said after coming into power, PML would take along all
political parties to resolve the issues being confronted by the country.
He said the party leadership believes in dialogue and committed to
resolve all issues through negotiations.
Durrani stressed political parties to shun the politics of confrontation
as it was not in the national interest, adding baseless allegation
regarding rigging in polls should not be used as 'political stunt.'
He said it has become a tradition that every losing party casts
aspersions over the fairness of elections.
He said Election Commission of Pakistan has given assurance time and
again that the upcoming general elections would be held in free, fair
and transparent manner.
In the presence of independent election commission, international
observers and free media there remains no possibility of rigging in the
polls, he added.—APP
