Judiciary to be reinstated, says Nawaz
Bureau Report
LAHORE—The head of PML (N) and former PM, Mian Nawaz Sharif has promised
that if his party PML (N) was voted to power it would reinstate
judiciary besides putting an end to inflation, obscenity, and
unemployment.
Addressing a public gathering at Jamia Naeemia, he said that all those
who have/and were responsible for committing brutalities against
humanity in Lal Masjid, Swat and Waziristan, do not deserve votes but
rather penalties. He warned that if National institutions kept on
breaking, than one day the Country would be dismembered.
He berated the way every citizen was faced with uncertainty about
Country’s and his future, and expressed his regrets that Pakistan Army
was being pitted against its own citizens, while it should be pitted
against its enemy.
He said that all he wanted was supremacy of law and judiciary, and it
was a wrong notion, if anybody was contesting elections, just because he
coveted the post of PM. He expressed his hopes that masses would
exercise their due rights on 18th Feb with due care and prudence.
Chief Pakistan Muslim League (N), Nawaz Sharif Monday said in present
situation elections cannot be fair or impartial, however, PML-N can be a
part of a coalitions government if it assures to struggle for
restoration of democracy.
Addressing a press conference here, he maintained that the ruling PML
(Q) is getting more and more concerned about it diminishing popularity
and alleged that it has issued orders for rigging the upcoming
elections.
“The Election Commission is not taking any notice of the pre-poll
rigging despite having all the proof in this regard,” Nawaz Sharif
alleged, adding “ that is why we have no hope for the elections to be
fair and impartial.”
He said the government wants minimum turn out on the election day so
that it can easily rig the polls.
PML-N Chief termed his participation in the upcoming polls as a movement
for restoration of democracy which, he said, will be carried on both on
the streets as well as inside corridors of power.
President PML-N, Shahbaz Sharif warned police and other government
dignitaries not be part of the rigging plot or else they will be awarded
punishment by people’s court.
