HEC sents 40 students to Austria on scholarship

ISLAMABAD—The Higher Education Commission has welcomed1 30 scholars who have returned from Austria after completing their PhD and sent another 40 students to Austria for scholarship here on Monday.
According to details, HEC has said farewell to another 40 students leaving for Austria under HEC’s collaboration with the Austrian Exchange Service, (OeAD), national agency for the International Co-operation in Education, Research and international Exchange of students, teachers and researchers.
While another batch of already selected students will leave in August this year. By the end of September 2008 number of HEC scholars would reach 341.Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman, Federal Minister and Chairman Higher Education Commission who was the Chief Guest on the occasion said that HEC plans have begun to show tangible results, and it gives him immense pleasure to greet the successful scholars who have done their country proud,’ said.—Online
