ISLAMABAD—Jemima Khan, ex-wife of Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf,
Imran Khan, has arrived in Islamabad along with his two children on
Monday.
Jemima Khan who reached via British Airline was welcomed by Imran Khan
on the airport. Both Imran Khan and Jemima Khan avoided any talks with
media. Jemima Khan will come here to monitor the upcoming general
elections and inquiring the health of father of Chairman PTI, Abdullah
Khan Niazi. Imran Khan and Jemima Khan left the airport in separate
vehicles.
As slogan-shouting demonstrators led by former cricketer and opposition
leader Imran Khan and his ex-wife Jemima gathered outside 10 Downing
Street demanding that Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf step down.
However, Musharraf assured Brown that the country ‘’will have a peaceful
transition (to democracy).’’
Musharraf said he had a detailed discussion with Brown on bilateral
relations, also on the ‘’democratic transition’’ that would take place
in Pakistan and ‘’our strong desire to go ahead with the elections which
will be fair, free and transparent on February 18.’’
