PML-Q to
revoke NRO, says Elahi
MITHI—Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q), Central leader, Chaudhry Pervaiz
Elahi Sunday said that after winning the General Elections-2008, Muslim
League will end (NRO) National Reconciliation Ordinance. Addressing a
public gathering in connection with the polls-2008, the campaign’s first
address at Tharparkar, Sindh, he said the national resources, which
according to him had been looted, will be recovered.
On February 18, the masses would reject the apology of the plunderers of
national exchequer, he said. Ch. Pervaiz Elahi, who is also former chief
minister of Punjab said that in case the party returns successful in the
elections run, the provision of gas would be ensured to the people.
Amenity properties will be handed over to the local people of Thar
district, he noted. The Thar coal power plant will be utilised and a big
power generation unit will be established. He said PML-F (Pakistan
Muslim League-Functional) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movements (MQM) were
our election allies and we will form a coalition government with them.
He said judiciary was attacked during the tenure of PML-N leader Nawaz
Sharif, who talks of independence of judiciary. He said Nawaz Sharif
should first apologise to the former chief justice of Pakistan, Justice
(Retd) Syed Sajjad Ali Shah. Pervaiz Elhai also expressed desire to see
the Sindh as developed and prosperous like Punjab.
He said after coming into power, he will serve the country honestly and
also called upon the people of Sindh to exercise their right of
franchise in favour of PML-Q candidates in polls-2008. Addressing the
public meeting, provincial chief of Pakistan Muslim league (PML-Q) Dr.
Arbab Ghulam Rahim, said that next prime minister would be from PML- Q
and if any other party’s man was elected prime minister, he would not
run for long time.
He said that Chudhary Parvaiz Elahi is best candidate for premiership,
and added Insha’allah PML- Q will set up the government in Provinces and
at the Centre.
He added that ex-prime minister Shaukat Aziz, allocated record funds for
development of the most backward district of Pakistan, Tharparkar. He
further said we have no fear of weapon and he hoped that Chudhary
Parvaiz Elahi will think like a Pakistani and not Punjabi after becoming
the prime minister.
On this occasion candidates office- bearers of PML Q, PML-F and notables
of the area including Syed Qurban Ali Shah, Syed Khadim Ali Shah, Syed
Papu Shah, Pir Noor Muhammad Shah Jilani, Rajveer Singh Sodho, Qasim
Siraj Soomro, Abdul Razzaque Rahimoon and others also spoke.
Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Senator Mushahid Hussain
Sayed stressed that national agenda should be worked out with the
