Lodhi, Junejo stars as KCCA Zone-II win U-19 title

KARACHI—Irfan Lodhi smashed a ton and Latif Junejo snapped five wickets as Zone-II clinched the PCB Karachi Region Inter District Under-19 Cricket Championship with an impressive 87 runs victory over Zone-VI at KCCA Stadium here on Sunday.
Irfan banged 105 with 18 boundaries as Zone-II collected 204 in 73.4 overs. Pacer Latif took five wickets for 38 runs and Sheraz Ali Khan got three wickets for 15 runs to dismiss Zone-VI for 117 in 51 overs.
At TMC Ground, off-spinner Farooq Lodhi captured five wickets for 78 runs to bowl KCCA Zone-VII to 87 runs victory over Zone-III. Due to Lodhi’s bowling Zone-III were bowled out for 170 in 52nd over. Opener Tanveer- ul-Haq top-scored with 44 with five boundaries. Earlier Zone-VII collected 251 all out in 81st over thanks to solid 98 with 12 hits to the boundary. At TMC Ground, Zone-IV thrashed Zone-V by 141 runs with Arsalan Saleem and Shahzeb Hasan sharing seven wicket between them.
Responding to Zone-IV total of 246, Zone-V crashed to 105 all out in 30.2 overs. Arsalan claimed four wickets for 46 runs in 10.2 overs. Shahzeb Hasan grabbed three for 27 in 11 overs.
