People are indifferent to elections: Baloch
RAWALPINDI—APDM central leader Liaqat Baloch has said people are
indifferent to elections and bogus ballot papers and ballot boxes are
being issued to increase election turn out which will not be accepted.
He said this in a press conference here Sunday after APDM meeting in Al-Moududi
building.
He told APDM public meeting in Liaqat Bagh would take place as per
schedule on February, 14 and all the arrangements had been finalized in
this respect.
He pointed out Abdul Wadood had also decided to boycott the elections
from PP-10 as per APDM decision. Election Commission itself was
realizing that people were not taking interest in the elections. If
government arrests the entire APDM leadership, election boycott campaign
even then would continue, he announced.
He alleged “Bhutta khor” organization was responsible for worsening the
situation in Karachi. Ban on Imran Khan entry into Sindh for the third
time is conspiracy to weaken federation, he warned. By not allowing to
hold public meeting in Nishtar Park Karachi, MQM had proved it wanted to
impose its own will, he regretted. .
The language being used against the judges, lawyers and political
parties was the worst fascist language, he charged. Contesting the
elections was tantamount to support general Musharraf and validate his
unconstitutional steps, he held.
Responding to a question about postmortem of Benazir Bhutto, he said
autopsy was a legal requirement. However it depended on Asif Zardari to
do so, he added.—Online |
