ISLAMABAD—The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has launched a project
for the providing clean drinking water to its consumers at an economical
price of Rs 3 per liter.
The USC has chalked out a plan for installation of water purification
machines at its stores throughout the country for which an agreement
with a Thailand based company, Water Net Pvt. Ltd, has been made, said a
USC press release issued here.
President Pervez Musharraf has lauded the USC’s efforts for the sale and
distribution of clean drinking water to its consumers at cheaper rates.
He has expressed the hope that the project would go a long way towards
improving the health conditions in the country, as a lot of diseases are
caused by the use of unsafe drinking water.

of an automatic water cleaning and purification machine here at the
Sector G-9 Markaz branch of the Utility Stores. Meanwhile, the potable
water would be provided free of cost to the Utility Stores’ Batchat Card
