NUST launches MIRO

ISLAMABAD—Addressing the launching ceremony of its specialized marketing organization under the name of Marketing and Industrial Relations Organization (MIRO) here on Friday, the Rector of National University of Sciences & Technology, Engineer Muhammad Asghar revealed the vision and mission statement of MIRO, 'To transform and restructure the image of NUST through provision of high quality services in line with our core values of innovation, dynamism, proactive-ness, competence and deliverance to our stakeholders and society at large'.
Rector said that NUST has been playing a vital role in equipping the nation with best skills in engineering, management, IT, medical, and other scientific faculties since its charter sixteen years ago. NUST Alumni is now placed prominently in all leading public and private sector organizations. He also announced National University of Sciences and Technology (MUST) has been recognized in the top 500 universities of the world on the basis of excellence in quality education and innovative approach to curriculum that is at par with the international standards. He assured the audience of NUST's commitment to make National University of Science and Technology one of the top universities of the world in the coming years through constant value addition and evolution in teaching methods and introduction of new faculties soon.
The MIRO team led by the Director General Mr. Mansoor Malik, revealed the strategic goals of MIRO that included the launch of new logo which initiates the process of re-branding NUST and making it the number one choice for students, faculty, employers and the corporate locally as well as internationally. Informing about the new campus in Sector H-12 Islamabad, he said that a major area would be allocated to technology incubation, entrepreneurial ventures and a dedicated technology park to simulate and facilitate innovative professionals. Although universities are accustomed to having PR departments, this is the first time in Pakistan; an educational institute has devoted an entire organization to focus on its marketing and public relations. This is a landmark initiative taken by NUST that would infuse healthy competition among academia in Pakistan
