IIUI holds lecture on efficient data communication techniques

ISLAMABAD—International Islamic University held a lecture on "An Efficient Data Communication Technique for Embedded Communication Network", here on Friday.
Dr. Syed Misbahuddin Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering University of Hall, Saudi Arabia delivered the lecture. He said that Single bus based distributed embedded systems are used in several real time control applications such as automobiles, aircraft, industrial automation and off-road vehicles etc.
The embedded communication network allows information sharing among various intelligent modules inside a microcontroller based multimaster system. In order to achieve an optimum functionality, the information should be exchanged among various electronic modules in real time. He said data reduction techniques are used to send the data over a transmission media at high speed. Data reduction techniques can be employed in single bus based multiplexing networks to improve information exchange rates among various intelligent modules.
He said controller area network (CAN) is a serial communication protocol, commonly used in embedded communication networks. The objective of this talk is to introduce data reduction algorithm for CAN protocol.
Performance analysis of the algorithm will be presented to justify the induction of the proposed algorithms in distributed embedded networks, Dr. Misbahuddin concluded his remarks. Earlier Engineer Haider Ali Khan consultant Faculty of Engineering IIUI also spoke on the occasion.—Agencies
