HEC converts CGPA into grades, divisions

ISLAMABAD—The Higher Education Commission has converted "CGPA" held by the candidates on the scale of 4.00, 5.00 and 6.00 into percentage of marks/grades/divisions as granted by universities in public and private sectors in Pakistan.
A press release issued here Friday said the decision to this effect was taken as per recommendation and approved formula of its 1st meeting of Equivalence and Accreditation Committee held on 5th and 18th April, 2003. It has also been decided by the competent authority that in future, for fulfillment of requirements of eligibility for appointment of faculty in universities/Degree awarding institutions and requirement of admission in M.Phil/Ph and other similar requirements, "CGPA" will be used for graduates who completed their degree requirements under semester system.—APP
