Hamida Khooro quits PML-Q post

KARACHI—The senior vice president of PML (Q) Sindh chapter and former Provincial education minister Dr. Hamida Khooro has resigned her party post.
The resignation, which comes in wake of assassination of chairperson Benazir Bhutto of PPPP, was tendered as a protest against the recent alleged ads based on ethnicity sponsored by PML (Q) leadership.
In a letter addressed to PML (Q) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Dr Khooro has said that she had made the decision after a “good deal of afterthought,” while she also “waited long for some possibility of good” from party sources, which disappointed.
She said that the ads posted gave the impression that Sindhi elements were involved in the rioting and arson, and had hurt the sentiments of Sindhis, hence she felt that she could not get along with the party under such circumstances.—Online
