7 Army officers killed in copter crash

Rawalpindi—A Pakistan Army helicopter L412crashed near Tanai, on Wana - Jandola Road at 2:40 pm killing all 7 army officers on board. On board were seven officers namely, Major General Javed Sultan GCO Kohat, Brigadier Afzal Cheema, Brigadier Saeed Khan, Lieutenant Colonel Omar Farooq, Captain Shehzad, Captain Naveed (Pilot), Captain Haroon (Pilot) and one Non Commissioned Officer, Crew Chief Naik Amir, says a statement issued by the ISPR.
The helicopter was on its way to South Waziristan. All on board embraced shahadat in the crash. Army helicopters have reached the site of the accident and have started investigations. Reportedly, the crash occurred due to technical fault.
Meanwhile President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Mohammadmian Soomro and Chief of Army Staff Gen Pervez Kiani have regretted the crash and have condoled with the bereaved families.
