Kashmiris showing indomitable spirit for right to self-determination: Memon
By Khalid Amin

ISLAMABAD—Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Nisar A. Memon Tuesday said the Kashmiri people have shown exemplary steadfastness and an indomitable spirit in their just struggle to achieve their right to self-determination. In his message on the Kashmir Solidarity Day, he said in the course of the struggle the Kashmiri people have been subjected to unimaginable sufferings and repression at the hands of the Indian occupation forces.
The Minister said the subjection, domination and exploitation by Indian forces in the occupied Kashmir constitutes a denial of fundamental human rights, which is contrary to the Charter of the United Nations.
“The epic struggle of the Kashmiri people for the realization of their internationally acclaimed and inalienable right to self-determination shows their determination,” he said. Nisar Memon said it is evident that the longstanding and increasingly serious human rights situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir has precipitated the Kashmir struggle in the occupied territory.
He reiterated that Pakistan would continue to extend its diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people who have been struggling for their just cause. Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Nisar A. Memon has vowed to ensure peaceful conduct in the upcoming general elections. “The government took tight security measures during the holy month of Muharram and our security plan proved successful. We will continue with the same security measures on the eve of election,” he told BBC radio.
To a question, the Minister said security agencies have captured several terrorist groups from different parts of the country, which were engaged in suicide bombings, adding “our struggle against terrorists and extremists is successfully continuing.” To another question he said people are well aware of the fact that tendencies of extremism and militancy could not be eliminated within a day.
Rather, people are acknowledging that the government is making utmost efforts to eliminate menace of terrorism from the society as it has achieved many successes in this regard, Nisar A. Memon mentioned.
