Teachers, scholars, students should strive for prosperity: Wajid
By Bushra Makhdoom
ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister Environment and Local Governments Syed Wajid
Hussain Bukhari has said that the teachers are the backbone of our
social system, they should strive together with students and scholars
for a prosperous, developed and violence free Pakistan.
He expressed these views while addressing a National Literary Reference
in memory of renowned educationist, scholars and social reformer Syed GM
Shah (Late) here at Ch. Rahmat Ali community center on Thursday. The
Federal Minister said that the relationship of respect and confidence
between student and teacher is vital for strengthening our values system
and social structure. He said that the reason behind the degradation of
our social system is that the old relationship of confidence and respect
is lacking in our society.
He said that the commercialism in a relationship of student and teacher
has weakened the foundation of our social system. The revival of this
old and time tested relationship between students and teachers is a need
of the hour. Paying a rich tribute to G.M Shah, the Federal Minister
said that G.M Shah was not traditional teacher rather he was a social
reformer. He said that the contributions and efforts of late G.M Shah as
educationist and Chairman Federal Board will always be remembered. The

is to join hands in fight against social evils and work together for
development and prosperity of the country.
