RS21b of lady health workers project finalized

ISLAMABAD—Caretaker Federal Health Minister Ijaz Rahim has said that PC-I of lady health workers Project worth Rs. 21 billion has been finalized, adding that, health workers are performing their duties in 2018 Tehsil headquarters of the country.
The treatment facilities for mother and child are being given in 7000 labour rooms; he said this while addressing the ceremony regarding launching ceremony of quarterly Urdu magazine of Lady health workers here on Thursday.
The lady health workers have become role models in our society, the minister said, adding that, steps would have to be taken for their education and training at national level. Only education can create sense of responsibility among lady health workers, Ijaz Rahim pointed out. Lady health workers would be equal to qualified doctors after getting training and education from best educational institutes, he maintained. All basic health facilities are being given in 2018 Tehsil Headquarters and 662 rural health centres of the country, he said. He lauded the steps taken by President Pervez Musharraf, resulting availability of free of cost medicines at every health centre. The women will get information related to health by reading lady health worker magazine, he said.
