By Asim Hussain

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Muslim League (Q) has apologizes and tender sorry with the Election Commission on negative campaign through media. Earlier on an application filed by the Federal Minister for human rights Mr. Ansar Burney, the Election Commission of Pakistan on Jan 14 asked the PML-Q leadership to explain its ‘highly controversial advertisement’ which appeared in the press asking non-Sindhis to apply for compensation for losses suffered by them during riots that engulfed the province after the tragic assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The Secretary General of PML (Q) Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed in his reply to Election Commission regretted and said it was rectified, the day after the publication of the said advertisement; it was duly clarified in the press and the remedial action has, therefore, already been taken. “Allow me to that as the country’s founding party, the Pakistan Muslim League is cognizant of its role and responsibilities to the people of Pakistan and remains committed to a national outlook and approach on issues, a policy from which it has never deviated.” Reply from PML (Q) to EC said.
After meeting of Federal Minister Mr Ansar Burney with Chief Election Commissioner, Justice (retd) Qazi Mohammad Farooq and an application filed by Mr Burney with the EC the EC has sought explanation from Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain..
