Important role of technocrats in future Govt: Salman

ISLAMABAD—Caretaker Minister for Finance Dr. Salman Shah Sunday said technocrats would have an important role to play in future government to sustain economic growth achieved during the last eight years.
“I think they (future government) cannot manage the economy without having outstanding technical expertise, and I presume that they will definitely have this kind of expertise available to them as without that it is impossible to manage this economy,” he told, Dawn News, a private television.
Salman Shah was responding to a question that not many people were seeing much space for technocrats in the next government. He said Pakistani economy was moving in the right direction and now it was increasingly integrated in the global economy.
He said being a liberal and market economy it has to be managed in a professional manner to put the country on consistent path of development and prosperity.
