Rs1.5m demanded for restoration of traffic signals

ISLAMABAD—Hundred of traffic signals worth of million of rupees have been broken in the aftermath of the tragic assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in this regard has finalized a list.
According to reliable sources, CDA has demanded more than 1 and half million rupees on urgent basis so that the traffic signals could be installed at the earliest. Sources said that it is the responsibility of CDA to install traffic signals on all the roads in the city.
It may be recalled that after the untimely death of Chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party, protest demonstrations were held in the capital like other parts of the country and the protestors have broken over 100 traffic signals installed on different points of the capital and also damaged the street lights.—Online
