PML-Q may become party to BB’s probe: Shujaat
By Asim Hussain

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President Ch. Shujaat Hussain Friday said that if Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) continues its “baseless” accusations, his party would also present its viewpoint before the Scotland Yard investigation team.
“A team of Scotland Yard has arrived Friday morning and if PPP continues its blame game, we will become a party and present our point of view during the investigation process,” he told a media briefing after a meeting of PML Senators here.
The PML president said it is quite inappropriate to level baseless allegations instead of putting in best efforts to promote harmony and understanding among the political forces. Shujaat said after the tragic death of PPP chairperson Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, a PML delegation was ready to attend funeral prayers in Naudero, but “we changed our decision because of the PPP attitude.”
Replying to a question, he said despite announcing 40-day mourning the PPP kept demanding polls on January 8, because they wanted to benefit from sentiments of the people for a sympathy vote. The PML chief said US and French foreign ministers had stated that there was no need of a UN investigation into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and pointed out that Rafiq Hariri’s murder investigation had a different background as a foreign country was allegedly involved in it. Answering a question, he said PML is biggest national political party and “we don’t believe in ethnicity or regionalism and always prefer national interests.”
To a question, Shujaat said the President has announced a Commission to assess the losses caused by riots in Sindh and PML would also apprise it of information given by its candidates.
He said PML would emerge as the largest political party in the upcoming general elections because the people want continuity in the development process initiated by the PML government.
The leader of PPPP, Dr. Babar Awan has categorically rejected the medical report about assassination of Benazir Bhutto as based on lies and fraud.
Addressing a press conference on Friday at the PP media center, he has accused Punjab Government of fabricating this medical report, since the x-ray of the deceased chairperson clearly reveals a bullet embedded in her head. He strongly advocated an independent UN commission to probe the murder, expressing his total dissatisfaction over Scotland Yard’s investigations and severely criticized President Musharraf over his (Musharraf’s) press briefing, terming it as a sheer pack of lies and deceit.
He accused the government of conspiring to create deliberate chaos and anarchy in order to discourage the visit of foreign observer teams in Country during elections.
He said that Chaudhry Shujaat had vindicated the statement of Asif Ali Zardari by offering to be a party to these investigations that Chaudhry Sahib alongwith others were really a party to the whole conspiracy, and a leader of Qatil League (murderer League).
He also cited Musharraf’s unwarranted statement about army’s non-involvement in the murder of Benazir, since PPPP never mentioned or hinted at Army’s involvement in her murder. He also urged President Musharraf to carry out investigations about the causes of death of Baloch leader Akbar Bugti, and scoffed at President’s lame attempts to infuse spirit into a political failed party as PML (Q).
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Friday unveiled External post martum report prepared on dec 28 to the media, asserting the ‘cause of death’ was the hi-tech weapon.
Addressing a news conference here, Senator Babar Awan said ,”Two to three tiny radiodensities underneath fracture segment are observed on both projections.”
