CJ constitutes five benches of SC for next week

ISLAMABAD—Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar on Friday constituted five
benches of the Supreme Court including Shariat Appellate bench for next
week starting from January 07 (Monday) for the hearing of hundreds of
cases at Islamabad.
According to the cause list issued by the fixture department of the
Supreme Court for next week, benches comprising Chief Justice Abdul
Hameed Dogar, Justice Mohammad Moosa K. Leghari and Justice Chaudhry
Ijaz Yousuf (Bench-I), Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi, Justice Muhammad
Qaim Jan Khan and Justice Syed Zawwar Hussain Jaffery (Bench-II),
Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, Justice Muhammad Akhtar Shabbir and Syed
Sakhi Hussain Bukhari (Bench-III), Justice M. Javed Buttar, Justice
Saiyed Saeed Ashhad, Justice Zia Pervez, Justice Dr. Allama Khalid
Mahmood and Justice Dr. Rashid Ahmed Jullundhari (Bench-IV “Shariat
Appellate Bench”) and Justice Ijaz-ul-Hassan and Justice Mian Hamid
Farooq (Bench-V) will hear hundreds of cases at Islamabad.
On the directive of the Acting Chief Justice, the fixture department has
already mentioned on the top of cause list that “No application for
adjournment through fax will be placed before the court. If the counsel
is unable to appear for any reason the Advocate-on-Record will be
required to argue the case.” Agencies Add: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr.
Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar will chair the 30th meeting of Board of
Governors of the FJA here in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad,
at 11. am today (Saturday).
A host of administrative, fiscal, continuing judicial educational
improvement, capacity building, in particular, converting the FJA into
the Centre of Excellence, and other items, both on the agenda, and also
as desired by the Honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan who is also the
chairman Board of Governors of the Federal Judicial Academy ( FJA),
Islamabad, will be considered during the meeting. The composition of the
FJA BoG includes: Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights as
Vice Chairman, Chief Justices of four provinces, Attorney General for
Pakistan, Federal Secretary for Law, Justice and Human Rights as members
said spokesman of the FJA Hashim Abro. |
