PCCs to assist police in improving law & order: SSP

ISLAMABAD—The members of the Public Conciliatory Committee (PCC) should play their role to improve the law and order and help the people in distress in line with the new SoPs drafted for PCCs of the federal Capital.
Syed Kaleem Imam, SSP Islamabad said chairing a largely attended progress review meeting of PCC coordinators held in his office on Thursday.
He expressed satisfaction over the progress and performance of the committees and urged its members to step-up their cooperation in identifying the areas requiring urgent attention of the police.
Imam asked them to help the police in re-launching its safe-home scheme and Thekri Pehra to ensure better security and safety of the people.
He assured that more cases will be referred to PCC members for conciliation.
The SSP also urged the PCC members to work hard to check crime at the grassroot level and to maintain public peace and tranquility.
He hoped that working and cooperation between the police and PCC members will improve in the days to come.
The SSP also suggested that news members may be inducted in the PCCs in replacement of those, whose He also invited nominations for constituting a PCC at Women police station, Islamabad.
