Free, fair polls order of day, says Shaukat

ISLAMABAD—Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday underlined that Government is passing through a critical stage adding free, fair and transparent polls are the need of hour in the country.
Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz expressed these views during his meeting in his residence with Ex- Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Muhammad Yousaf on Wednesday. The meeting lasted for quite a while in which host of issues including present political scenario, tragic death of Former Premier Benazir Bhutto, upcoming elections, party matters, ongoing projects in Balochistan and deteriorating security situation following the assassination of BB, last Thursday and others were discussed in length.
During the meeting, Shaukat Aziz termed the death of BB as a national tragedy adding that culprits behind the heinous act must be dealt with iron hands. He paid rich tributes to the services of BB for her party and the country as she was known in the world as an International Leader.
We must unite and face the challenge with courage in this hour of crisis, he maintained.
Some elements he said are trying to malign the image of the country thus cashing the tragic death of BB.
He said that we want free, fair and transparent polls in the country stressing that only in that case country can move ahead in the path of democracy.
On the other hand, Ex- Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Muhammad Yousaf said that various development projects are taking place in Balochistan adding that positive impact will occur in days to come.
Both the leaders stressed the need for unity and assured that all efforts shall be made to strengthen the party.
