Lawari railway tunnel

CHITRAL—Lawari railway tunnel having total length of 7875 meters would be completed within next months, as the work is in full swing on the project. According to the sources, the work on Lowari railway tunnel Project, the longstanding demand of people living in Chitral, is underway in three shifts. During current year, the tunnels would be connected with each other. The blasting and retrieving work of debris would be completed in 10 months. The tunnel having length of 2750 meters has been completed from Dir side and 1600 meters from Chitral side. It is merit mentioning here that President Pervez Musharraf inaugurated Lowari railway tunnel on December 08, 2006.—Online
