LHC allows exhibition of Indian film ‘Goal’

LAHORE—The Lahore High Court by an interim order has allowed the exhibition of an Indian movie “Goal” in Pakistan and also sought reply till January 9 from central film censor board as to why it imposed restriction on exhibition of this film. The directions were issued on a petition moved on behalf of a firm m/s Eveready Pictures. Petitioner counsel Ali Akbar Qureshi said that the firm intended to exhibit this film in Pakistan for which it sought permission from the censor board which granted it. He said that now when the petitioner had started exhibition of this film the censor board directed to stop it. He said that the impugned order had no valid grounds and once permission granted could not be withdrawn subsequently.—Agencies
