Atta available on normal rates in twin cities

ISLAMABAD—Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Hamid Ali Khan has said that all food items including Atta are available on normal rates in Islamabad after the opening of markets on Monday.
Due to strict and timely check by District Administration, Atta is easily available in the local markets, and people are buying 20 kg Atta bag on normal price of Rs. 295.
He said that under the supervision of district food department and magistrates, mobile Atta trucks are available in different urban and rural parts of the city. In this regard, sale points have been set up at Bhara Kahu, Golra, Tarnol, Sitara Market, Karachi Company, Peshawar More and I-9 at control rate. The citizens were seen satisfied with smooth availability of Atta in the local markets. People have started visiting markets after three days of mourning of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. A local customer Muhammad Ajmal, said he never faced any difficulty in buying Atta from the market. He had bought three bags of 20kg at Rs. 295 each.
A lady buyer Sadia Bibi, said that while shopping in G-11 Markaz “there is no shortage of anything in markets including Atta. She bought 2 bags at the fixed rate which were maintained by the district Authorities.
District Food Controller Muhammad Afzal and Magistrate Arif Rahim visited Bhara Kahu, Sitra Market, G-8 Markaz, Haidari Market and checked availability of Atta on the control rates.
Shopkeepers of local markets said that there is no shortage of Atta, and they were receiving required amount from dealers. They were also selling it on the fixed rates given to them by the government authorities.
Wasim Husain, A general store owner in Abpara Market said that he had a large quantity of flour available in his store, and was selling on normal rate because everybody knew the rates fixed by the government.
In Rawalpindi, City District Government have made special arrangement for the smooth supply of Atta to the people.They have set up Sunday bazaars in different areas of the city to facilitate the public.
According to City Government Spokesman, flour is available in all markets of the city and citizens can buy Atta from the 45 points made by the city government. Beside this Atta is also available on the normal rates at the gates of flour mills where shops were setup. The citizens were seen satisfied with smooth availability of Atta in the local markets. People have started visiting markets after three days of mourning of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
