pledges fair probe into BB’s killing

ISLAMABAD—The Federal Cabinet offered Ghaibana Nawaz-e-Janaza (funeral
absentia) of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson and Former Premier
Benazir Bhutto here at Prime Minister’s Secretariat on Saturday
afternoon.
Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammad Mian Soomro, members of Caretaker
Federal Cabinet and officials of Prime Minister Secretariat offered the
Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza. After Namaze-e-Janaza, the participants offered
special prayers for Benazir Bhutto that may Almighty Allah shower His
blessings upon her and rest her soul in peace.
The Imam Sahib said that the tragic death of Benazir Bhutto has saddened
the whole nation, adding that, it is difficult moment for all the people
of Pakistan and there is need to bear this loss with patience and
tranquility. The Prime Minister Mohammadmian Soomro on this occasion
reiterated government’s commitment to utilize its entire means to
investigate the tragic incident and bring the culprits behind this
episode to trail.
He reaffirmed that the government would continue its efforts to combat
terrorism in all its forms and manifestation and called upon the people
to remain calm and extend their support in the investigation of this
tragic incident.
The caretaker Prime Minister lauded the role of former Prime Minister
Benazir Bhutto in National politics and said that her contribution for
the rights and betterment of the people of Pakistan will be remembered.
He added that death of Benazir Bhutto is a great national loss, which
can never be compensated.
Caretaker Federal Cabinet Saturday offered Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza
(funeral prayer in absentia) of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto
here at the Prime Minister House.
Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro, cabinet members and officials of
Prime Minister’s Secretariat offered the Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza.
Caretaker Prime Minister Muhammadmian Soomro, on the occasion,
reiterated the government resolve to utilize all its means to
investigate the tragic incident of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination and
bring the culprits to book.
He called upon the people to remain calm and extend their support in the
investigation of the tragic incident. He also reaffirmed that the
government would continue its efforts to combat terrorism in all its
forms and manifestations. The Prime Minister lauded the role of Benazir
Bhutto in the national politics and said her contribution for the rights
and betterment of the people will long be remembered. He said her death
was a great national loss which can never be compensated.
After Ghaibana Nimaz-e-Janaza, special prayers were offered for the
departed soul that Almighty Allah shower His blessings upon her and rest
her soul in peace. Imam Sahib said it was a difficult moment for all the
people of Pakistan and there is need to bear this loss with patience and
tranquility.
The government said Saturday that it was ready to exhume the body of
slain former prime minister Benazir Bhutto for inquiry, if required by
the Pakistan Peoples party (PPP).
The Interior Ministry spokesman Brigadier Javed Cheema said that the
government had told the truth about the tragic incident, which has been
rejected by Bhutto’s aides and supporters.
He also ruled out international help in probing Benazir Bhutto’s death
as saying that the international community “does not understand the
environment in the country”.
