SSP takes special security measures in Capital

ISLAMABAD—Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Islamabad Syed Kaleem Imam has taken several security measures to maintain law and order and cope with any untoward incident in Federal Capital following continues violence around the country against assassination of Benazir Bhutto.
It is joint responsibility of Police and Public to secure property, he added. Syed Kaleem Imam directed all Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to take special measures to secure people life and their property, sources told Online.
SSP Islamabad further directed officials to deploy policemen at bus stops, markets, hotels and business and entertainment centres.
In order to maintain law and order, the Police officers have been instructed to hold negotiations with representatives of traders, civil society, reconciliatory committees, citizens committee and social workers instead of taking action, SSP Islamabad Police maintained.
It is joint responsibility of Police and Public to secure property, he added. There was no incident of violence in Federal Capital like other parts of the country due to prompt security measures taken by Capital Police, however, activist of Pakistan Peoples Parties set tiers on fire at some highways or roads.
