Rs 1 million assistance for Mehdi Hasan’s treatment

KARACHI: Federal government has approved to provide monetary assistance of Rs one million for treatment of renowned singer Mehdi Hasan.

According to an official statement, caretaker federal minister for sports and culture Sardar Sikandar Hayat Jogezai will give Mehdi Hasan a cheque of monetary assistance at the great singer’s residence in Karachi.

Reigning for about four decades in semi-classical music and singing of ghazals, Mehdi Hasan’s voice is still being echoed in the sub- continent of Pakistan and India. He has sung more than 25 thousand film and non-film songs and ghazals.
