Bush plans to
call Musharraf after Bhutto assassination
RAWFORD, TEXAS—: US President George W. Bush plans to telephone Pakistan
President Pervez Musharraf Thursday to discuss the situation in the wake
of the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, a
spokesman said.
Spokesman Scott Stanzel said "we are working to arrange" a phone call
between Bush and his key ally in the "war on terror" Musharraf, and that
Bush "plans to talk to him today."
Bush earlier condemned the "cowardly" assassination of opposition leader
Bhutto, who was slain in a shooting and suicide bomb attack after a
campaign rally in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi
