Police, Army
reach in volleyball final
ISLAMABAD—Defending champion Police and Pakistan Army outclassed their
opponents and kept their hopes alive for the championship crown to reach
in the final of ongoing 25th Captain Natha Khan Sher Jang memorial
volleyball championship at Sansa (Azad Kashmir) organized by Azad
Kashmir Volleyball Association on Sunday.
The first semi final match was played between defending champion Police
and Navy. The favourite Police spkiers prove their best to show to
unbelievable victory against Navy by 3-2 on the two hours and 19 minutes
match to take in the final.
In the very crucial match Police team having best average height in the
series starts their campaign with rhythm and coordination in the first
set of the match their spiking average with successful blocking and a
services did not allow the Navy to take lead through out the game and
won the first set at the score of 25-22.
In the second set Police spikers took lead through powerful spikes by
Muhammad Sajjad, Zafar Kurya and Mohib Rasool to won the set at the lead
of 25-20.
Trilling by two set the Navy fought back with some quick points to take
advantage and make some pressure against opponent team to win the set at
the score of 25-23.
Encourage by first set win Navy spikers fought back with determination
and mantel fitness in the second set. Both teams show their best but
Navy edge in the game and won the set by 25-18 and levelling the match
by 2-2.
In the fifth set to Police dominated the proceeding and at the time of
changes of the courts they were leading Navy to put up some resistance
at this stage but Police spikers at the moment were too strong by power
spiking collative blocking and counter attack to win the wonderful
victory by 15-6.
In the second semi final encounter Pakistan Army thrashed Wapda by 3-0
reaches the final against Defending champion Police. Army got easy
victory with the score of 25-18, 30-28 and 25-23.
On Monday (today) Police will take Army in the final match while
Chairman Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), Choudhry Muhammad Yaqoob
will be chief guest of the concluding ceremony. —Agencies |
