China Chowk underpass to be opened by December end
ISLAMABAD—The construction work on China Chowk underpass will be
completed by the end of December and it would be opened for the traffic
on the same date, CDA sources said here Sunday.
The Rs 617 million project, which was to be completed in August but
delayed due to heavy monsoon rains, is near to its completion, the
official said adding “the construction work is in full swing now.” The
project was delayed twice, first it was to be completed by the end of
August, but due to heavy monsoon rains the project opening was
rescheduled for September.
The contractor again did not meet the deadline which further added the
miseries of the commuters in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and
Islamabad. The official said that the linking of 7th Avenue to Kashmir
Highway would also be completed by the end of this month, while CDA
would construct a flyover on Khayaban-e-Suharwardi road next year to
divert the traffic coming from Zero- Point to Aabpara on Kashmir
Highway. He said two pedistarian bridges on 7th Avenue would also be
installed by this month.—Online |
