AJK nursing staff upgraded

MIRPUR(AJK)—The AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan, on Friday announced the raise of basic pay scale of staff nurses from BPS-14 to BPS-16 and head nurses from BPS-16 to BPS-17. This has been made effective with immediate effect as an acknowledgement to the services rendered by them for the rehabilitation of the injured of October 8th devastating quake. Addressing the Silver Jubilee Convocation of the State Nursing School here, he said that the nursing wing of the medical profession has vital importance and the government will provide all facilities for the development of this profession. The Prime Minister directed the Health Department of AJK to start B.Sc Nursing classes from the next session and fill all the 42 vacant posts of the faculty immediately. He also announced to sponsor two Ph.D scholarships for nurses of the state in the country or abroad. The Prime Minister also distributed prizes among the teachers and students on their outstanding performance in their respective fields. Referring to Kashmir issue, he said that the solution of Kashmir issue is imperative for the durable peace in South Asia.—Online
